Sacred Heart Catholic Academy is first and foremost, a Catholic school, with Christ at the centre of all that we do.
'Our Mission, inspired by Jesus Christ, is that Sacred Heart Catholic Academy fosters a nurturing environment where Gospel values are lived out through every aspect of academic, social and spiritual growth.'
At Sacred Heart Catholic Academy, Gospel values extend throughout all aspects of school life. Through these values, we strive to ensure that each student entrusted into our care feels valued, respected, loved and able to achieve the very best they can.
Our core values have been created by all members of our school and wider community. Love, Respect, Service and Ambition shone through as values that staff, students, families and the wider community feel to be of great importance when defining us as a school.
Our pupils enjoy a daily school life that encompasses daily Prayer and Liturgy as well as wider school worship and celebration of the Eucharist. Students also have the opportunity to access our excellent Chaplaincy provision on a daily basis.
In addition, pupils experience a first-class, broad curriculum that incorporates each of our Catholic Social Teaching's. The seven strands of Catholic Social Teaching are:
- Preferential Option for the Poor
- Stewardship
- Rights and Responsibilities
- Dignity of Workers
- Solidarity
- Community
- Care for God's Creation
Each of these seven strands are embedded throughout the entirety of our curriculum as well as through wider school life.
As a school, we work in close partnership with our local church, St. Peter and St. Paul, as well as work in communion with other local parishes within the diocese. We also strive to work with and for our local community, donating food to the local food bank regularly and working closely with local care homes, local charities and businesses during key events.
Everything we do, we do following in the footsteps of Christ. He is at the centre of all things and we aspire to share that with our students.
